Glory and renown
glory and honour
glory to the mariner
the Spanish Sage.
Here is Spain
in search of a leading light,
illustrious emblem,
shining blazon;
from this soil
so History says
arose the glory
of the nation.

|
Novelda blesses the genius so wise
his immortal brilliance shining on earth.
Acclaimed by science which surrenders to him
with glorious laurel adorning his forehead.
Culture he sowed, he measured the Equator;
ardently he followed the route of the stars.
He opened the horizon to naval art.
Novelda’s glory! Glory of the Nation!
|
A thousand times fortunate,
beloved homeland;
which gave life
to Jorge Juan.
|
For you the peoples
will wave their banners,
with ovations
today.
